4D Anatomy – Incredible Interactive Learning Experience

On a couple of occasions I have blogged about how  Augmented Reality could be used to enhance instruction within the Physical Education & Health Classrooms. In 2010 the horizon report listed “Augmented Reality” as a technology to watch out for in education, with a 3 – 5 year rate of adoption to mainstream use. Augmented Reality is defined as the technology of combining the real world with computer generated information or  imagery. Essentially this exciting technology makes it possible for you to use your mobile device to display information on whatever you’re pointing it at. Focus on a restaurant, and a display pops up giving a menu and customer reviews, look at a historic building, and you’re told when and by whom it was built. These are the sort of possibilities afforded by the new technology of augmented reality.

So with this in mind Im truly excited when applications arrive that utilise the best of Augmented Reality. The latest to do this is an iPhone/iPad, Android Application known as 4D Anatomy. Checkout this amazing app in the video below;
